Volunteer opportunity description: Volunteers are needed to mentor 4-H students at Molholm Elementary School in Lakewood. Colorado State University Extension in Jefferson County offers volunteers the chance to teach and guide students in grades 3-6 for just about one hour each week.
Molholm Elementary’s 4-H Club offers at-risk kids the chance to learn leadership skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and helps them build their self-esteem. Volunteers mentor students in basic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities during the beginning of the school year. Then, students and mentors choose 4-H projects such as: quilting, sewing/artistic clothing, cake decorating, robotics, woodworking, and much more. All curriculum and materials are provided free.
Volunteer opportunity suitable for: Students and Adults (16+)
Time Commitment: Every Tuesday from 3:45-5 p.m
